My Favorite Youtube Videos #1

The first I saw this video, I was crying... literally crying. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. It is a parody ("LITERAL") trailer for the PS3 game Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It is so funny. Enjoy...

Thanks to my cousin Tommy for showing me this video and to Tobuscus for making this video

Preditions/Feel:

This was one of the most surprising nominees ever! Firstly, how did The Tourist get even one nomination? I did not see it, but based on the reviews, a Razzie would suit. Also, Alice in Wonderland surprised me with the nominations it got. The "best drama picture" can really go to any film in the category except The Fighter; it just doesn't seem like it will win. "Best director" is the same. "Actor - Drama" will probably be either Eisenberg, Franco, or Firth. Natalie Portman is going to win "best actress." The Kids Are All Right will most likely win "musical/comedy."Johnny Depp in Wonderland seems like a safe bet. As much as I want Stone to win, Hathaway, Moore, and Benning all have a shot. "Supporting actress" can go any way at all. "Supporting actor" seems like Bale or Garfield will win (IDK where Michael Douglas came from.) Toy Story 3 is winning "animated movie" and I Am Love is a good movie, but Biutiful is a strong contender. The Social Network might get "score" and "screenplay." Tangles will probably win one its song nominations.

Sad....

I am fairly disappointed that I have no readers. I really want somebody to read what I write and spread the word. Oh well, I do this because I like it.
So, here is a list of sad movies, in vein of my mood.

  1. Million Dollar Baby
  2. Toy Story 3
  3. Titanic
  4. Armageddon
  5. Finding Neverland
  6. A.I.
  7. United 93
  8. Saving Private Ryan
  9. Marley and Me
  10. Ladder 49
That's my random sad movie list. It is very random. I like most movies that are sad. Some movies I like because they are sad. Some are happy sad (Toy Story 3) and some are bad sad (every other movie on the list.)
Thanks so much for reading. Follow me on twitter at ryanstweeting11

Nothing to do with movies.

I thought I would take the time out of my busy day to show you something really funny. It is a very random thing I saw on Facebook:

1. Go to Google Maps.
2. Click on "Get Directions."
3. Type in "Japan"in the Box A and "USA" in Box B.
4. Click "Get Directions."
5. Scroll down to number 27 or 29 (I forgot).
6. Read it.
7. Laugh.
8. Laugh More.
9. Then Tweet this post.
10. Do what the direction says. ;)

Thanks for actually doing that. I thought it was the funniest thing in the whole world.

Conviction

Every year, there are certain movies that scream "OSCAR!!!" and don't fulfill... "Amelia"....... Anyway, this year, I thought that "Conviction" was going to be that movie. Then I saw it.
I greatly admire Hilary Swank because I happen to love "Million Dollar Baby" and "Boys Don't Cry." So, it seemed like a good idea to see "Conviction." I was so surprised. This movie was amazing. The acting was perfect; the leads were perfectly cast, no doubt about it. Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell were nothing short of amazing. Swank never once had a bad moment and showed determination.
It is based on the true story of Betty Anne Waters, who became a lawyer to prove her brother innocent of a murder she is sure he did not commit. This may seem like a hard legal drama, but it was rather light and easy to understand. Swank and Rockwell played brother and sister very convincing and drove the overall force of the movie. Every scene was visually satisfying as well.
Overall, it seemed very believable and I very greatly enjoyed it.

Grade: 9/10

Saw 3D

I am an avid fan of the "Saw" franchise. So, it makes sense that I would be very highly anticipating the "last" installment: "Saw 3D." The order I like the "Saw" movies from greatest to least including this one is 1, 7, 3, 6, 2, 5, 4. That is a very random order, but it is true. To me, watching a "Saw" movie is not only about the blood, but about the story. It has a great story, even though many people disagree. For a horror movie, the plot cannot get much better.
When I was watching the latest installment, I was watching it in 3D. 3D is a hit-or-miss and I'm going to admit that this 3D was not amazing: unnecessary. If this franchise had gone on for too much longer, it would become very repetitive. This movie had very great traps and the first ever seen to make me get nauseous: a very simple scene of having to pull teeth of your mouth (my worst fear). As usual with the "Saw" movies, there is a huge twist that makes a lot of sense. If you think about the past movies and certain little details, then you will come to the conclusion that something is off. I won't spoil it, but you will be shocked. CLUE: It ends where it begins.....

Thank you for reading :)

Pokemon Games

Every since I was a young child, Pokemon has been my obsession. I have at least one game from each "generation" of the games. The games I have are Pokemon: Blue, Red, Yellow, Silver, Gold, Crystal, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Diamond, Pearl, and HeartSilver. The next games (Black and White) are actually going to have noticeable differences, unlike the previous ones. They are all amazing games, with constantly improving technology. Each pokemon is unique and special and I really wanted to "Catch them all"! My favorite pokemon are Squirtle, Torchic, Charmander, Snorlax, and Togetic. If you know Pokemon, you would notice a trend; three of those pokemon are starter pokemon that you first get when you start your journey, from different generations. The legendary pokemon are also amazing, but it is way to average to choose those so I chose different ones. Each gym badge I get makes me feel satisfied and proud of myself. Self confidence allowed me to beat the Elite Four. These games have amazing morals and it's easy and fun to play for anybody of any age.

Forever, Pokemon will stay very close to my heart.

P.S.
This a very funny Pokemon video ***Not for Kids***

Original Vs. Remake #1 - Piranha

This is my first installment of "Original Vs. Remake" (OvR) where I compare the original and remake of something. This week's OvR is comparing Piranha (1972) and Piranha 3D (2010). I saw Piranha 3D before I saw the original, and it gave me a motivation to see the original 70's one. The older one is very cheesy, stupid, badly acted, but amazing all at the same time. I really enjoyed it. The sounds the fish made while "biting" was bone-chilling and hilarious. The whole movie was illogical, but very fun. The remake is barely a remake. The only reason these movies are connected is because of killer piranhas and a crowded mass of people at a gory eat-all-you-can-eat scene. The newer movie knew it was campy, and acted likewise. The deaths were VERY violent, almost too violent. There was excessive nudity, violence, and drinking. It had this AMAZING plot twist at the end that left me and my friends shocked and laughing. "Sequel Aisle 1"
Overall, each movie had it's own factors that made them better and worse than the other. The old one relied less on gore and had cheesy effects, acting, and dialogue. The new one acted cheesy, had excessive gore, and a story that made sense but it might have been a little overload. It comes down to a very narrow line, but I think that the winner is... Piranha 3D. It was just overall better, but I recommend both.

First batch of reviews!

Each time I post, I will try to review/commentate multiple things. Unless something is very important, I will do this.

Let's start with a movie review:
"Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" (2010) Directed by Oliver Stone

If you saw the original "Wall Street" movie, you will be all set to go to view this sequel, which takes place 23 years after the original (fun fact: both movies take place 2 years before their release year). Gordon Gekko is getting out of jail after serving his eight year jail sentence for security fraud. His daughter, Winnie, is dating Jake, a person very similar to Bud Fox from "Wall Street." They are happy, and Winnie dislikes her father. Her brother committed suicide and she blames it on him. Jake and Gordon secretly become acquaintances, and they try to get Winnie and Gordon back together. Their is a simultaneous plot about a Wall Street Firm. That was the less interesting part, and it was also more confusing.
Overall, the acting was amazing with very realistic dialogue. The direction was smooth and the plot was good. Recommended.

T.V. Review
"My Generation" Episodes 1 and 2 (2010)

This series had a very good concept, and if executed correctly, it could have been very good. Unfortunately, that is not what happened. It is about a group of teenagers who were followed for a documentary in high school, and what they are like 10 years later. Most of the characters are the exact opposite of what they were in high school. The "Over-achiever" is a surfer slacker, the "Beauty Queen" is the perfect housewife, the "Rebel" is the wife of the jock turned military man, and the "Wallflower" is the mother of the "Over-achiever"'s child. The actors are not given a lot to work with, but they make the series somewhat watchable. There are about 5 minutes in each episode I enjoy. This over-the-top dramedy is not recommended.
